Hampshire Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod Showcase 2014.
What a blast 2014 Wedding Season has been.
So the wedding season 2014 has now come to a end what a great year full of lots of love and happiness. I have had so much fun this year being a wedding photographer this year “best job ever”. Really looking forward to being apart of many more weddings in 2015 with some very exciting weddings already booked in my diary to include France, Jersey and Isles of Scillies to name a few not to mention first friends wedding photographing next year as well.
On a personal note not to be two cliche but this year I married my best friend in June and had a great time getting married and enjoying being on the other-side of the camera. Very strange however to be a Bride myself but loved every minute of it wish I could live the day all over again but I guess that is where the photographs come into it and a huge thank you to my friend Emma who took the challenge to be our wedding photographer she did a great job. Also this year was short listed for over 3 awards took home Venus Business Woman Award for home Based Business and also to top the year off went home with Wedding Industry Award for Best Wedding Photographer Regional Finalist for London and South East what a year it has been I wonder what 2015 has in store.
So here is a few images to celebrate 2014 wedding season a showcase if you wish of my lovely couples from 2014 to hard to include all the images so a couple from each wedding. For more images please check out the new wedding gallery on my main menu options page.
Only fair to start the first picture off with me and my wedding and honeymoon trip.

Thank you to all my amazing clients that voted for me as a result have been awarded Wedding Industry Awards 2015 Best Photographer Regional Award London and South East so massive thank you to all exciting times, a great start to a Monday morning. This Award means a lot to me as it is voted for by my clients. The awards celebrate excellent work and outstanding businesses in the Wedding Industry Awards and I am very proud to be apart of the awards for 2015.
Blog post from Wedding Industry Awards Website Describing the Awards.
“Given that our nation is bursting at the seams with creativity, it can be of no surprise that the Best Wedding Photographer category had always been the most popular one in TWIA. But that also means it’s one of the hardest and toughest to judge. So what are the kind of things that voters are telling us about their wedding photographers and what are the judges looking for?
Well, in the first instance it comes down to style. Even the most artistically blind couple can be won over by a photographer who has their own unique sense of style and ability to see the world from a specific viewpoint. It is usually this that first attracts their clients to them.
Whilst very few voters comment on the technical side of things, there is a certain sense that what couples want is a low maintenance professional who can surreptitiously get on with their job, rather than somebody who has all the gear and no idea. With the increasing popularity of documentary photography, couples almost seem to prize a photographer who they barely notice over one that has a take charge and manipulate the situation for the image type of attitude.
That being said, The Wedding Industry Awards panel often read comments commending their photographer for having a professional yet friendly demeanour that meant that their guests could interact and relate to the photographer as well. The impression that this key wedding supplier leaves amongst the clients’ friends and family does seem to be of tantamount importance.
That, perhaps, is because the photographer is the one supplier who is on hand all day and most visible to the guests. Since they’re all there to have a good time, they don’t want to be shouted as they’re marshalled into shot or made to feel like they’re in the way when they want to take their own pictures.
Of course, the work of a wedding photographer extends much further than the wedding day itself. From pre-wedding shoots to post-processing and album design, couples want to feel like their wedding photographer is invested in every part of the process, as well as guiding them in their choices and helping them to feel comfortable in front of the camera.
They may not know about the hours of editing that go into creating their wedding photos, or the endless work photographers do on raising the profile of their business or the fact that they have found a needle in a haystack due to the strong branding and passion of that particular photographer over all the rest. But they do know when they get on with someone, when they feel relaxed and when, as a consequence of that, they end up being in love with their wedding photos to such a degree that they can’t stop showing them to people.”

Stanwell House Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. This weekend I photographed the wedding of Michelle and Tom which was amazing what a perfect blend colourful photographer colouful couple. The wedding was in Lymington in New Forest such a lovely area in the forest a perfect mixture of town and country. Michelle looked so great bright red hair and quirky style so glam as for Tom well very handsome groom. The styling of this venue was great with the colourful decorations and all the balloons totally rocked.
Stanwell house is very much a very intimate wedding venue. Which is very relaxed and set in a very stylish area of town. The staff are super friendly and really looked after the couple and their quests extremely well.
Isles of Scilly Wedding Photographer. Well with the Islands being so small there are not hundreds of choices for you. However there are a mixture of photographers on the Islands with a mixture of ammeters and professionals however there is not much choice for couples. Royal Marines Museum Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. I have done many forces weddings and understand the extra stresses and pressures involved. Also from my own experiences understand the fine balance when planning a forces wedding. What a fabulous wedding of Hollie and Sean one of my favourite weddings this year. The wedding started off with a church wedding following with reception venue for late afternoon and evening time.
Hollie had some amazing blue shoes which really added that extra sparkle to her amazing bridal outfit not to mention the fab sunflowers which were amazing. I met Hollie first the day after I got engaged myself last year and she must of thought I was mad meeting up with me as I was so excited to talk to her about all her wedding plans. We arranged a pre-shoot before the wedding where finally got to meet the groom to be and guided them both though a little shoot before the wedding day and explained to them what to expect and described to them how I worked etc which I think put them at ease.
On the wedding day it was very relaxed and fun and we escaped to Southsea beach for couple pictures which were really fab again be blessed with the most amazing sunshine and cloud combination a photographers friend. Do not want to give to much away below are a few images from their big day.

Portchester Castle Church Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Well what can I say about these two Kimberley and Jon what a fab couple and of course the bride has the best name ever. I meet these two at a family home for the first time I took round a selection of albums so they could see a selection of my work. Upon our meeting they booked me as their wedding photographer. After that meeting I did a pre-wedding shoot with them some months later and then three days before the wedding went to meet them both at the venue to talk though last details and bits before the big day. I really got to know these two and I feel this reflects in their wedding photographs.
Not only was the weather unpredictable in the morning but it turned out to be a lovely sunny day which Kimberley was very happy about. Getting ready in the morning was great fun as they had a very close friend who was hair dresser who lived across the road she had a amazing studio which was in her garden which was like a little secret den. The couple got married at St Marys Church Porchester and then we did couple pictures around the grounds of Porchester Castle. After this they then went on to their reception which was a garden party style theme in a marquee which was set up so lovely and really allowed the couple to celebrate their wedding in style. I had such a lovely day and it ended with the step father grabbing the microphone off the singer and getting everyone to give me a big round of applause I think I blushed a little but the gesture was lovely. So nice to be appreciated for the hard work. I can not wait to print a wedding album for this couple.
Had some lovely feedback on my Facebook after the big day;
“Kimberley was utterly amazing. We definitely picked the right photographer. She was bubbly, organised other people well and supported me perfectly. Other people from the wedding party commented on how great Kimberley was. Kimberley Bride”
“As a member of the wedding party I have to say she was amazing! Absolutely brilliant with the children as well as the adults!! Michelle (quest at wedding)”
“As the Mother of the Bride I would like to say a massive big thank you, Kimberley you were amazing, your wonderful personality shone through everyone was put at ease when taking photo’s of Kim and Jon’s brilliant day. Elmers Court Hotel Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Had the pleasure of being Dom and Lauren wedding photographer at Elmer’s Court wow what a day. The sun was shining and surrounded by lovely family and friends. Had such fun photographing these love birds and the story of their day, wish I could do it all over again. I meet Lauren and Dom possibly a year before the big day and kept in touch with them in the lead up to the wedding. Then a few weeks before met up and did a pre-wedding shoot and it turned out to be Dom’s birthday as well so not only involved in there wedding but also Dom’s birthday. The pre-shoot was so much fun and little cashew as well was a great character.
The wedding was beautifully styled by Lauren and simple elegant touches thought-out the venue which put their stamp on the day. Lauren took Dom’s breathe away as she walked down the aisle and even a little tear in my eye as the photographer these two are truly in love. This was my first wedding that I photographed after my wedding what a wedding to lead on from mine. What a amazing dress Lauren had fitted like a glove it was meant to be. The day was very relaxed and fun for the two of them they had a lovely wedding meal and had traditional speeches and cake cutting in early evening. The evening band were great fun even getting the groom to be a drummer for a bit. I ended up staying at this wedding for 14hours but what great fun I had a huge pleasure to be Lauren and Dom’s photographer.
After the big day was over received this lovely little message and feedback from Lauren and Dom.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to Kimberley for photographing our wedding yesterday. It was one of the best decisions we made for the day to choose Kimberley and she was just fantastic for the whole day. She made everyone she spoke to feel comfortable and has such a great personality which really made her an amazing part of our day. She worked so hard all day and not just taking photos, she was chatting with people, asking people if they were ok for drinks and just being really helpful. We cannot wait to see the pictures she has taken of our special day.
I will recommend Kimberley hands down to anyone who is getting married or wanting a photographer. Thank you so much again. Dom and Lauren xxxx”
