Sopley Mill Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Well first time at this venue this weekend what a pretty tucked away venue in Christchurch I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Nick wedding here I will share a selection of there wedding images once they have seen them. Lovely team at the mill, the mill has such a magical and wonderful feel to it. Especially with the river surround the venue has a very english countryside feel and a element of peace and beauty. Perfect for photographs and even more perfect for putting your own stamp on the venue and saying your vowels together. Area covered by Hampshire registration service wonderful team the Hampshire gang lovely registrars who really look after and guide the couple though the service.
“This beautiful 18th century watermill, surrounded on both sides by the Millstream of the river Avon closed as a restaurant in 2011. The owners of the Mill, which has been in the same family for over 150 years, have taken this wonderful building back in hand from the tenants and we have just opened it as a stunning wedding venue with incredible views over the Avon water-meadows. We want Sopley Mill to be a blank canvas for you to create your own perfect wedding. We will provide the stunning views, beautiful historic building and the privacy that is hard to find in other local wedding venues. You can use the caterers you want, the photographers who’s style you like, the florist who you know, the wedding planner you trust, the decorations you have longed for – it is completely up to you. And, just as important to keep the costs down, we allow you to bring in your own drink without a corkage charge. So you can have a glass of champagne without having to pay the earth for it.”

Royal Marines Museum Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. I have done many forces weddings and understand the extra stresses and pressures involved. Also from my own experiences understand the fine balance when planning a forces wedding. What a fabulous wedding of Hollie and Sean one of my favourite weddings this year. The wedding started off with a church wedding following with reception venue for late afternoon and evening time.
Hollie had some amazing blue shoes which really added that extra sparkle to her amazing bridal outfit not to mention the fab sunflowers which were amazing. I met Hollie first the day after I got engaged myself last year and she must of thought I was mad meeting up with me as I was so excited to talk to her about all her wedding plans. We arranged a pre-shoot before the wedding where finally got to meet the groom to be and guided them both though a little shoot before the wedding day and explained to them what to expect and described to them how I worked etc which I think put them at ease.
On the wedding day it was very relaxed and fun and we escaped to Southsea beach for couple pictures which were really fab again be blessed with the most amazing sunshine and cloud combination a photographers friend. Do not want to give to much away below are a few images from their big day.

Portchester Castle Church Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Well what can I say about these two Kimberley and Jon what a fab couple and of course the bride has the best name ever. I meet these two at a family home for the first time I took round a selection of albums so they could see a selection of my work. Upon our meeting they booked me as their wedding photographer. After that meeting I did a pre-wedding shoot with them some months later and then three days before the wedding went to meet them both at the venue to talk though last details and bits before the big day. I really got to know these two and I feel this reflects in their wedding photographs.
Not only was the weather unpredictable in the morning but it turned out to be a lovely sunny day which Kimberley was very happy about. Getting ready in the morning was great fun as they had a very close friend who was hair dresser who lived across the road she had a amazing studio which was in her garden which was like a little secret den. The couple got married at St Marys Church Porchester and then we did couple pictures around the grounds of Porchester Castle. After this they then went on to their reception which was a garden party style theme in a marquee which was set up so lovely and really allowed the couple to celebrate their wedding in style. I had such a lovely day and it ended with the step father grabbing the microphone off the singer and getting everyone to give me a big round of applause I think I blushed a little but the gesture was lovely. So nice to be appreciated for the hard work. I can not wait to print a wedding album for this couple.
Had some lovely feedback on my Facebook after the big day;
“Kimberley was utterly amazing. We definitely picked the right photographer. She was bubbly, organised other people well and supported me perfectly. Other people from the wedding party commented on how great Kimberley was. Kimberley Bride”

Elmers Court Hotel Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Had the pleasure of being Dom and Lauren wedding photographer at Elmer’s Court wow what a day. The sun was shining and surrounded by lovely family and friends. Had such fun photographing these love birds and the story of their day, wish I could do it all over again. I meet Lauren and Dom possibly a year before the big day and kept in touch with them in the lead up to the wedding. Then a few weeks before met up and did a pre-wedding shoot and it turned out to be Dom’s birthday as well so not only involved in there wedding but also Dom’s birthday. The pre-shoot was so much fun and little cashew as well was a great character.
The wedding was beautifully styled by Lauren and simple elegant touches thought-out the venue which put their stamp on the day. Lauren took Dom’s breathe away as she walked down the aisle and even a little tear in my eye as the photographer these two are truly in love. This was my first wedding that I photographed after my wedding what a wedding to lead on from mine. What a amazing dress Lauren had fitted like a glove it was meant to be. The day was very relaxed and fun for the two of them they had a lovely wedding meal and had traditional speeches and cake cutting in early evening. The evening band were great fun even getting the groom to be a drummer for a bit. I ended up staying at this wedding for 14hours but what great fun I had a huge pleasure to be Lauren and Dom’s photographer.
After the big day was over received this lovely little message and feedback from Lauren and Dom.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to Kimberley for photographing our wedding yesterday. It was one of the best decisions we made for the day to choose Kimberley and she was just fantastic for the whole day. She made everyone she spoke to feel comfortable and has such a great personality which really made her an amazing part of our day. She worked so hard all day and not just taking photos, she was chatting with people, asking people if they were ok for drinks and just being really helpful. We cannot wait to see the pictures she has taken of our special day.
I will recommend Kimberley hands down to anyone who is getting married or wanting a photographer. Thank you so much again. Dom and Lauren xxxx”
Winchester Wedding Photographer Kimberley Garrod. Wow this wedding had a fab selection of venues Winchester Royal Hotel, St Peters Church and Winchester Cathedral Refectory. The lovely Harriet and David what a fantastic wedding day. It was so nice to move around Winchester to all the different venues and what a mixture of styles in the photographs the different venues really tell the story of the day.
Harriett got ready and the Winchester royal Hotel with her girlfriends and the boys spend morning relaxing in Winchester and a quick pint at Greens before heading to the church. A lovely little car came to pick Harriett and her dad up to transport them to the church. When a lovely service followed with a very nervous and excited Dave awaiting. The service was so lovely and I was given the freedom to spread my wings around the church which allowed me to get a 360 story of the service which was so lovely. Due to the great weather the sun was pouring in from all windows which made the photographs look so beautiful. Then the day moved on to the Winchester Cathedral Refectory Winchester’s best kept wedding secret. A lovely venue in centre of town but with views of beautiful walled garden and roses with cathedral in the background. Such a vintage secret garden fee to this venue. The photography on the day was very relaxed and fun with many candid and natural shots in the moment which truly capture all the quests celebrating.
Below are a few Photographs from the day that tell a little part of the story for you as a taster.
Wedding Flowers where do you start? Which colours to pick, styles, size etc very tricky job for a couple to pick. As some of you may know I have recently got married and I am a huge fan of real flowers and I feel that flowers make such a difference in wedding photography and to the atmosphere of the day. I decided to get married on the Isles of Scillys and it was proving hard to find a florist, so I thought I would give it a go myself. I have seen many different ideas over the years of being a wedding photographer and knew what I wanted so I went to local florist shops to find a stock of flowers to take with me. So I ended up with some base flowers white roses and also some green bits to pack out button holes. The white roses traveled ok but some of the petals were damaged due to picking roses that were half closed it allowed me to pull the damaged petals off before going into the design.Then I went hunting on the Island and found a stock of the most amazing pinks which is a well know island flower, all different types and colours and built myself a hand tie and button holes for my wedding day. Sometimes keeping it simple can be best if you are creating your own wedding flowers. Pictures below for you to see what I got up to with creating my own wedding flowers.
So due to the fact I got married on Isles of Scillys I could not take everyone with me so there was a big party planned the following weekend which I needed even more flowers for. So this time I commissioned the most amazing team from Luv Flowers in Botley. I have worked with them on many projects and happy to say I picked them for my wedding florist. I was very pleased to see there little van turn up full of the most amazing flowers for me. It is worth collecting images and ideas from magazine and the internet and going to florists with loose ideas as they can give you support and guide you, sometimes it is worth letting florists do there thing you will end up with the most amazing results.The theme I gave to my florists was garden party vintage style. I highly recommend this team of florists you will not be disappointed. Below are a few pictures of what they did for me.
